Discover why hundreds of teachers and students have made Gallery Stratford a part of their arts education. We offer a variety of programs for elementary and high school students, and teachers - tours, workshops, lectures and curriculum materials.
Class Visits
Class visits to Gallery Stratford are interactive and curriculum-based; encouraging students to find pleasure and meaning in art, and to think critically about visual images.
Students in grades K-12 are guided during their visits by staff or docents who lead students in discussion of the content and artistic qualities of selected original works of art. Programs change regularly to compliment current exhibitions.
Self-conducted class visits to Gallery Stratford can be accommodated; we do ask that they be booked in advance.
Studio Workshops
Supplement your class visit with a hands-on art project in the Tim Hortons Community Art Studio! Through the creative process, the hands-on art project is a valuable addition to your tour, reinforcing key concepts introduced in the galleries and heightening your students' gallery experience with works of art in our permanent collection or current exhibition. Our hands-on art projects are taught by practicing artists or gallery educators.
Fees for studio workshops start at $65 per class, depending upon materials; there is no additional charge for Boards with Gallery Stratford contracts.
New: Homeschool Art Enrichment Program

Ela Moll Scholarship
Annually, Gallery Stratford awards a scholarship to Perth Huron high school students who go on to study visual arts after high school. The Ela Moll Scholarship was founded by members of the Stratford Community and the Stratford Art Association to commemorate the death of Ela Moll (1950-1969), and to ensure that Stratford and area youth will continue to be encouraged in the arts. The due dates for the 2009 Ela Moll Scholarship Application and portfolio will be announced during the winter.
Vision On
Developed by Gallery Stratford educators, Vision On kits help introduce the arts to your classroom! Each Vision On resource kit contains lesson plans, books, images, sample art or artifacts related to a visual arts, heritage and culture theme. These resources are designed to address curriculum expectations and may be adapted for students at the primary, junior and intermediate grade levels.
Vision On kits are available on The Group of Seven, Impressionism, Medieval Times, and a variety of other topics. Development of Vision On kits is supported by Independent Order of Foresters.
