Gallery Stratford accepts digital proposals only, which should include the following:

  1. Letter of Introduction (include your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address)
  2. An artist statement (maximum length one-page)
  3. An artist curriculum vitae
  4. 8-12 high quality images.
  5. List of works (include the title, date, medium, and dimensions).

All documents should be .doc, .docx, or pdf files. Images must be PC and MAC compatible and JPEG format. Video must be viewable in Quicktime or Windows Media Player.

Gallery Stratford does not accept hard copy proposals or original artwork. Exhibitions at Gallery Stratford are planned approximately three years in advance. Proposals may be submitted all year round, but will only be assessed after the September 1st deadline.

Exhibition proposal packages should be emailed to: exhibits@gallerystratford.on.ca

We thank everyone who applies. Due to the volume of submissions that we receive, we will only be in touch if we wish to pursue further discussion.

OAC Exhibitions Assistance Grant

Gallery Stratford is a third-party recommender organization that participates annually in the Ontario Arts Council: Exhibition Assistance Program, which provides grants of $500 to $1,500 to assist individual artists with costs related to presenting their work in an exhibition. Through Gallery Stratford, this program supports artists in Stratford and the surrounding region (zone 2, as defined by the OAC) who are currently practicing. Gallery Stratford prioritizes first-time applicants, as well as solo exhibitions in a public art gallery or exhibitions of importance in the artist’s career.

We accept and assess applications on an ongoing basis until funds are spent. Please refer to the OAC guidelines for submission. We only accept applications between June and December.
