Darkness and Light

Darkness and Light: Contrast in the Gallery Stratford Collection

Community Curators: Carrie & Jeremy Wreford

February 24 - May 4, 2018

Opening Reception Friday, February 23, 2018 from 7 - 9 PM

The selected works in this exhibition are a study in contrast, both in the predominantly black and white palette of the pieces, but also in the execution which ranges from the methodical and precise to the spontaneous and gestural. Positive and negative space is conveyed in different styles: some static and serene, others kinetic and free. Some representational, some abstract. There is a varying range of media: prints, drawings, paintings, collage and photographs - all executed in black and white, and all selected from the Gallery Stratford Collection by Community Curators, Carrie and Jeremy Wreford.

Gallery Stratford is excited to showcase this work, that has all been selected by two members of our community.

Artists Exhibited:  Trevor Bates, Miljenko Horvat, Paul Brian Keele, Terry Legault, Benjamin Leeson, Rick McCarthy, Ken Nutt (Eric Beddows), Don Phillips, Tammy Ratcliff, Jannis Spryopoulos, Antoni Tapies, Arika Yoshikawa, and Werner Zimmermann
